The deutSCHule office

NOT ONLY FOR COURSE REGISTRATIONS

Can’t find your classroom in the deutSCHule? Do you need a student ID card or would you like to buy the course textbooks? Do you have questions about a visa for your studies or about the admission requirements for the university? Are you unsure which BVG-ticket is the right one for you or which museums to take your parents to when they come to visit? Then we will be happy to help you! We will find a solution for every concern, no matter what’s on your mind. Why? Because we are happy to take care of your problems. Because we ourselves were new to Berlin once and know how complicated this city can be. Because we are looking forward to your visit.

Caroline Blocksdorf – Always in dialogue with the world. An explorer — transient, spiritual, path finder — even when she’s running our front office. From Berlin via the Maldives, Barcelona, Birmingham, Sri Lanka, and Bali, she has returned to her roots. She’s always accompanied by her dog Jimmy and the desire to make the world a little bit better every day.

Kotchakon Suphan – Our office’s superhero. Calm under pressure and ready to help, as shown by her motto: “Nicht dafür/don’t mention it!”. Her smile and her laugh light up the room. Her  open and positive disposition enriches our daily lives. A source of joy, composure, and skill all that the same time.

Your wishes come true in our office!

BECAUSE WE LIKE YOU!

We provide you with fast, friendly and uncomplicated assistance. Because to us, the client is king. Let us sort out the confusing tangle of conflicting information from many sources. Here there are no thousand different ways through a labyrinth of paragraphs and no jungle of bureaucracy. We help you. Not later, not someday but immediately. Here, now, today. So that you have more time for the important and beautiful things in Berlin life. And even more time to learn German effectively.

The back office management of the deutSCHule

Behind the Scenes

Our back office management team is the motor of the deutSCHule and is always working in the background. Just like a real motor, no one knows how or why our team works, only that it runs like a well-oiled machine. Did your course start punctually in the right room? That’s our back office management team!  If the server is down for all online courses worldwide, but  the deutSCHule’s are still up and running? Thanks to our back office management team!

Jonas Schmidt is…
Jonas Schmidt is the way he is because of his conscientiousness.
He’s conscientious because he’s organized and reliable.
He’s organized and reliable because he always plans ahead.
He always plans ahead because he is goal-oriented.
He is goal-oriented because he is persistent .
He is persistent because he is the way Jonas Schmidt is.
Because he is Jonas Schmidt.

Emma Johnson is our diversity manager and an all-around wonderful person who generously shares both her joie de vivre and her lunch with her colleagues. Emma radiates like the sun and her brilliance has repeatedly saved us during the dark winter in Berlin. Emma’s style would represent her home town Philly in Neukölln if she didn’t already represent Neukölln so hard. Ruckus and class, Kotti and Vabali, Emma and Johnson.

The Diversity Management at the deutSCHule

Our diversity management works to make sure that you always feel comfortable, welcome, and represented at our school. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, or how you live. If you have any experiences with discrimination, whether at our school or in any part of your life, don’t hesitate to talk to our diversity manager. She’s always available to help you and will work with you to find a solution. Additionally, our diversity management team organizes seminars and workshops on topics such as gender sensitivity, discrimination, and diversity.

Management of the Daf/DaZ Department of the deutSCHule

Our DaF/DaZ department is responsible for your courses and your tests. It provides quality assurance for your classes, organizes test administration, and comes up with new class formats. Of course, the DaF/DaZ department of the deutSCHule is in charge of and schedules all courses and tests. The department has been run by Pia Quast and Franziska Schmidtsince January 2022.

Pia Quast is the personification of balance, an ever-changing om. Pia always has a confident smile on her face, in addition to patience and an open ear for her fellow humanity. Though her open ears might not be on her smiling face, she also never gets any egg on it.  That’s because Pia Quast’s work is always reliably accurate. In fact, exceedingly accurate and always in the flow. In an exceedingly and reliably accurate flow.

Franziska Schmidt can suss out the vibes in the blink of an eye, and make her own even faster. And in her eyes, the vibe has to be friendly, creative, and open.  She approaches everything with style, competence, and curiosity, and always without the slightest delay. Because Franziska’s courage is worth a second glance.

The deutSCHule’s Upper Management

The headship at the deutSCHule GmbH pulls together all of the organization’s loose ends. It is the managerial core for strategy, operation, and personal. Business development, the teaching program, marketing — nothing escapes the watchful eye of the headmaster. The deutSCHule has been led by Johannes Boßhammer since May 2017.

Here’s what our team has to say:

Johannes Boßhammer – From the forests of Westphalia to jungle of Berlin. His passion is the love of detail. His loves are nature, pleasure, and life. His details are acumen, creativity, humor, energy and drive, and the inimitable ability to appear unexpectedly in the doorframe.
